UPDATE: Highway 33 open after 5-vehicle crash in Dodge County.

UPDATE - 12-4-13--

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Central Communications received 911 calls regarding a traffic crash at about 11:12 am on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the intersection of STH 33 and CTH P in the township of Herman.  Involved were 3 semi tractor-trailer units.  2 of the 3 drivers were injured.  None of the vehicles involved were hauling hazardous materials.

A semi that was northbound on CTH P struck another semi that was westbound on STH 33, causing a large roll of steel to come off of the westbound semi’s trailer.  The roll of steel was estimated to be in excess of 25,000 lbs.  The third semi was eastbound and collided with that roll of steel.

The driver of the eastbound semi was transported to Froedert Hospital with serious or critical injuries.  The driver of the northbound semi was transported to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The westbound semi driver was uninjured.  Names, ages and hometowns will be released at a later time.

Agencies assisting the Sheriff’s Office were:  Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers and Inspectors, Dodge County Highway Commission, Dodge County Emergency Management, Washington County Sheriff, DCERT, Allenton EMS, Hartford EMS, Mayville and Theresa EMS, Allenton Fire Dept.

The Dodge Sheriffs Department continues to investigate the crash in cooperation with the State Patrol Inspectors.
