He is also in violation of his parole.
The fugitive subject of an FBI manhunt in the Madison area remains in the Dane County Jail. Paris Poe is awaiting extradition to Illinois, where he is wanted for questioning regarding a federal murder investigation.
He was arrested last night just after 7.
Madison Police found Paris Poe on Highway 30 between Fair Oaks and Highway 51. Officers were monitoring a car and saw Poe enter with a woman. Because he was expected to be armed a police SWAT team ordered him from the car at gunpoint and he complied without any incident or injuries.
Madison Police Lt. Cory Nelson says Poe shaved his head before his arrest in an apparent attempt to change his appearance. Police think he may have been heading back to the Chicago area since he was driving towards the interstate.
Police add that he won't face any charges here.
Meanwhile, the Verona Area School District has released a letter regarding their lockdown during the search for Poe. You can read it here.
