Principal at Madison Memorial dies

The following is a letter from staff at Madison Memorial :

Dear Memorial Community,

It is with deep sadness that we share with you that Memorial Principal Bruce Dahmen passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 11th. Bruce has been a tremendous leader in this community who has touched all of our lives, and this is an incredible loss for our community.

Both Memorial and additional district staff have been available today, and will continue to be here to provide support to students, staff and families. We also hope that you will take a moment to check in with your son or daughter. We know that our students will respond to this loss in different ways.

We also know that bringing our school community together and providing as normal of a routine for students as possible will be beneficial.  Mr. Dahmen would want the school to continue to do the great work and learning that takes place here every day.  All regularly scheduled events will continue to take place.

We encourage you to reach out for support, and to let us know if you have questions.  If your son or daughter needs additional support, please do not hesitate to contact your school counselor, social worker, nurse or psychologist.

We will continue to use the school web-site, Twitter and Memorial’s facebook page to share updates with all of you.  As soon as we have information about memorial services, we will share that information with you as well. If you have additional questions, please call the school at 663-5990.

We know that you will join us as we keep Bruce, his family and our entire Memorial family in your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Memorial Staff
