Non life threatening injuries in crash north of Madison

July 22, 2013 - At approximately 9:30 am, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 51 near the I-90 on-ramp in the town of Burke.

A Dodge pick-up truck traveling northbound went into reverse and struck the front end of a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck. The Dodge was operated by Charles Cotton, age 46 of Deforest. He was transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the vehicle going into reverse is being investigated.

Jamie Tjugum, age 47 of Madison, was the driver of the Silverado. He and his 11-year-old male passenger were treated by EMS at the scene and released.
