Missing Iowa man found in Dane County

On Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at approximately 3:41pm, a Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched to USH 14 at Mahocker Road, in the Town of Mazomanie, for a check person request.

A passerby had contacted the Dane County Communications Center to report that an elderly man was standing in the roadway at the above location and appeared to be confused.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the man who was identified as Casper I. Robinson, age 85, of Anamosa, Iowa. Mr. Robinson appeared to be confused and did not know his current location. Upon conducting a records check, the deputy learned that Mr. Robinson was listed as a missing person through the Jones County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa.

According to family members, Mr. Robinson had not been seen since June 10, 2013, at 5:45pm, when he left a family member’s residence in his vehicle to return home, which was only a short distance away.

Deputies remained with Mr. Robinson for several hours until family members were able to respond from Iowa and assist him in safely returning home.
