Two missing therapy horses have been found dead in the Baraboo River.
A kayaker traveling along the river west of La Valle found the bodies of the horses nearly a week ago.
The horses, Jimmy and Vicki, were used in therapy programs for veterans and troubled youth. Their owner initially believed the horses had been stolen because there were no signs that they escaped.
But, Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister says...they never found any evidence of criminal activity. He says the river had high water and was icy at the time the animals were missing in March. He says it appears the animals drowned by accident.
