UPDATE:  Homicide charge in crash that killed passenger

MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ A drunken driving homicide charge has been filed against the driver who crashed into a tree in Dane County and killed his passenger.

Twenty-two-year-old Kurt Laufenberg, of Dane, has been released from jail on $5,000 bond. A criminal complaint says Laufenberg was speeding June 14 before crashing his car in the Town of Berry. Twenty-two-year-old Dylan Lindeman, of Middleton, was killed.

The State Journal reports the complaint says Laufenberg told investigators at the hospital that he drank six beers in three hours before getting behind the wheel that night.

06/16/2014 UPDATE: The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim in Saturday's early morning crash on Martinsville Rd.  He was 22 year old Dylan Lindeman of the Middleton-Ashton area.

DANE - A man is dead, another seriously injured after a sincle-vehicle crash in Dane County.

The incident occured just before 2 A-M Saturday at the intersction of Martinsville Road and High Rise Road in the Town of Berry.

The Sheriff's Office news release suggests the driver failed to navigate a turn and struck a tree.

The driver was transported to by helicopter to UW Hospital, while the passenger died at the scene. Both men were 22-years old.
